Kylie Douglas
Kylie Douglas (RN, MIPH) is the Director of Strategy and Policy within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Branch for the Department of Defence. Committed to making a positive contribution toward suicide prevention and increased wellbeing literacy, Kylie focuses on engaging individual and organisational investment in wellbeing through good policy and strategic implementation, and also works to improve interdepartmental collaboration between Defence and DVA to drive successful outcomes for the Defence and veteran communities.
Kylie is a former military officer with decades of experience across diverse populations and health specialities. As a champion of lifelong learning, her diverse portfolio includes programme and change management, mental health and psychiatry, education, military operations, trauma and palliative care. Her recent work includes the development of the Defence and Veteran Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, reform management for recommendations from the Royal commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide and Defence input into the 2024 National Suicide Prevention Strategy.
