Joe Ball
Joe Ball is the Victorian Commissioner for LGBTIQA+ Communities and a nationally recognised leader in suicide prevention, mental health, and family violence. With over 20 years of experience in community services and advocacy, Joe has worked at the frontline and in executive leadership to address the drivers of suicide, particularly among LGBTIQA+ communities. Their work is grounded in trauma-informed practice, lived experience, and an unwavering commitment to justice and equity.
Joe has led significant reform and service delivery in both suicide prevention and family violence sectors, advocating for approaches that centre those most impacted by discrimination, isolation, and systemic harm. They are known for building bridges across government and community, and for their fearless public voice in advancing the wellbeing and human rights of LGBTIQA+ people.
