Abbey Kirkpatrick
Abbey lives on Wangal land, in Sydney; and is the Phone service Coordinator, previously Phone Support Worker. Who joined StandBy in 2022. Abbey holds a Bachelor of Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Professions and is studying a Master of Counselling with UNE. Abbey is an accredited counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association. Before working in the mental health field, working in the hotel industry. Abbey enjoys spending time with her little fluffy dog who likes to go to the beach and enjoys a puppaccino by the water (her dog not Abbey).
The phone service is very special to me, and I take pride in the work the team does in being ‘the voice’ of StandBy when people reach out for support. I have an interest in supporting individuals bereaved by suicide, individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, and those using non-suicidal self-injury as a coping mechanism. I also have interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals.
