Thomas Duncan-Plummer

Tom Duncan-Plummer is a PhD candidate and scholarship recipient at Curtin University in Western Australia. For the past few years, Tom’s research has focused on better understanding the relationship between emotion-regulation and non-suicidal self-injury, particularly among university students. As part of his research program, Tom has published well-received scientific articles showcased in the Journal of Clinical Psychology and Journal of Affective Disorders. He is passionate about prioritising lived-experience perspectives in research, and translating psychological research findings to individuals who can benefit from them. Tom also enjoys teaching in undergraduate psychology courses as a Sessional Academic, and is currently working on an exciting internship project which involves evaluating a men's mental health program with Mens Talk. Looking forward, Tom is keen to engage in future research projects with a focus on clinical psychology and improving mental health among emerging adults.
