Thomas Duncan-Plummer National Suicide Prevention Conference 2025

Thomas Duncan-Plummer

I'm a PhD candidate at Curtin University in Western Australia, and for the past couple of years, my research has focused on better understanding the relationship between emotion-regulation and non-suicidal self-injury, particularly among university students. As someone who has been bereaved by suicide, I'm passionate about prioritising lived-experience perspectives in research, and translating psychological research findings to individuals who can benefit from them. I also enjoy teaching in undergraduate psychology courses as a sessional academic, and I'm currently working on an exciting project involving evaluating a men's mental health program (Katitjin Blue Mind Place) with Mens Talk. I'm keen to engage in future research projects that focus on clinical psychology and improving mental health among emerging adults.
