Nerelle Nicol
Committed and passionate about affecting real change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people Nerelle has worked for over forty-five years, across a range of government departments and community organisations through elected representation and administration in senior positions. Throughout the 90’s she was Chairperson of the ATSIC Cairns and District Regional Council for nine years and a key spokesperson for Indigenous people throughout the region. Born in Mossman, Far North Queensland, Nerelle is a descendent of the Juru clan of the Birri-Gubba Nation, around the Bowen/Ayr region and an Erubam Le and Ugaram Le from the Eastern parts of the Torres Strait region.
